Women in Orthopaedic Leadership

Mary O'Connor, MD from Yale Orthpaedics was the latest SAMMCAA Visiting Professor. Thank you to Zimmer Biomet who hosted journal club and to Dr. O'Connor for thought-provoking insights on diversity and other issues in orthopaedics.

Residents Erin Dalton (2023), Tayt Ellison (2021), Nicole Sgromolo (2021) and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rachel Cuenca (Fac mbr), volunteered this weekend at The Perry Initiative. This program was designed to exposed female medical and high school students to orthopaedics in hopes of increasing female presence within the field. Beyond patient care, the Department of Orthopaedics and the Alumni Association is proud to give back to the local community.
